Touchtone Phone Banking

The Bank is always open 24 hours, 365 days of the year. You can call from any touchtone phone anywhere in New Zealand and also overseas to:

• Check account balances
• Pay bills
• Transfer funds between accounts
• Get information on past transactions
• Order statements, chequebooks and deposit books
• Set up, amend and delete automatic payments.

You can call from your home or office, or even a phone box or mobile phone while you’re travelling. You can also call from overseas. (As you’ll see if you check out Planning a trip).

Helpful Tips

Set up an Automatic Balance to hear the balance of a nominated account automatically as soon as you login to Touchtone Phone Banking, without needing to press any more keys. To turn on automatic balance :

• Login to Touchtone Phone Banking and at the main menu press 5 (Other Services)
• Then press 4 (Set up options)
• Then press 2 (Automatic balance)
• Select your nominated account at the prompt

The following shortcut keys help make using Touchtone Phone Banking easy

• Press 0 at any time to speak to a person
• Press 7 at any time to return to the previous menu
• Press 8 at any time to return to the main menu

It’s a good idea to password protect your mobile phone before using it to call phone banking. Check your phone type and where possible always clear your phone if it stores a temporary record of your phone banking call details.

You can change your PIN in Touchtone Phone Banking at any time. Go to the ‘Other Services’ menu and follow the prompts in the ‘Change setup options’ menu.

What you need

To use Touchtone Phone Banking, you need your customer number, which is printed on your Thoroughbred Card or Cashpoint Card.
You will also need a 5-digit personal identification number (PIN). You select this PIN when you first call to register for Touchtone Phone Banking.

You can call from overseas, so long as you're calling from a touchtone phone. You will have to meet the cost of the international call.
