Online Banking for Business
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Online Banking suitable for my business?
Yes, provided you have single or ‘several’ signing authority on your
accounts. For more information contact your Relationship Manager or Online Banking
Support on 0800 16 88 88.
What if I have separate accounts for my business and personal
needs, or for a number of different businesses?
- Each separate group of accounts needs to be registered separately, as they are different
legal entities.
- You cannot view different account groups via the same session or log on.
- You can still move funds between separate account groups by setting up bill payments from one account group to another. You should be aware that bill payments
made before 10pm on business days are processed by the Bank that day. Those made
after 10pm are processed the next business day.
What about trusts?
Accounts such as family trusts and trusts operating as businesses may register for
Online Banking in the same way as other business and rural customers (provided the
Trust's rules allow for individual signing).

Can I authorise someone in my business to access and carry
out certain transactions on my business accounts, via a separate log on to Online
Banking?
This is not currently possible within Online Banking. However, additional levels
of authorised access can be provided through our DirectLink Online product.
Can a dual signatory access our business accounts via a separate
log on to Online Banking?
This is not possible using Online Banking but dual signatory signon can be provided
via DirectLink Online.
DirectLink is designed to meet the more complex needs of larger organisations, by
offering additional functionality such as:
- The ability to pay large numbers of wages and creditors by using batch payments
- The ability to make international payments and Same Day Cleared Payments.
- Bulkloading files of domestic or international payments from an accounting system
- DirectLink Online can
also cater for accounts with dual signatory accounts, as well as different levels
of access.
