How do I switch to a National Bank Home Loan?
If you like using the Internet for your banking, you can
apply online for a National Bank Home Loan. Fill out the
form and indicate in the comments box that you want to switch your current home loan to us. We'll then call to
talk you through your options.
Alternatively, you can call us on 0800 185 185 and talk to a home loan specialist, complete the
application form or visit any National Bank
branch.

Please note, your home loan repayments need to come from a National Bank account. To transfer your everyday or
savings accounts and to get your pre-approved credit card, simply ask, and we’ll manage this process for you

What will it cost?
Depending on the home loan you have with your existing provider, there may be some costs involved. For example,
if you have a fixed-term loan there may be a 'break' fee if you repay it before the end of the fixed term. When
you talk to us, we can advise you of what, if any costs you may need to consider.
What information do I need to provide?
If you wish to switch your home loan to The National Bank, you will need to have the following information:

Your bank account details

One form of photo identification (e.g. driver’s licence, passport, photo credit card) or two forms of
non-photo identification (e.g. full New Zealand birth certificate, certificate of New Zealand citizenship,
credit card, debit card, immigration papers)

Details of your current financial position (e.g. existing mortgage/loan details, hire purchase commitments,
valuations of major assets such as your house)

Evidence of your income. It can be a recent pay slip, a letter from your employer (on letterhead),
IRD return, rental appraisal, copy of tenancy agreements or your annual accounts for the last three years
if you’re self-employed.
In some instances we may also need additional information to the above before we can approve your loan. If you
can't provide this information we may still be able to help you.
