Who can get the National Bank OE package?
To qualify for The National Bank OE package you need to be:
- An existing National Bank everyday account holder and
- Planning to combine work and travel while you're away from New Zealand
Note: The OE package is not available if you're intending to permanently live overseas.
Handy hints:
- Keep a National Bank Classic
account open while you're away to help you pay the bills and manage your money in
New Zealand. You'll pay no monthly account fee
- If you're going on your OE, you may want to arrange for someone you trust to hold
your your cheque book and have authority to sign on your account. You will need
to provide us with an 'authority to operate' form or 'power of attorney' document
signed by you before you go. You can drop into any National Bank
branch to arrange
- Money Machine (ATM) withdrawal limits may be different overseas and fees are charged
when you withdraw money from overseas ATMs

- Overseas Travel Insurance is important, so you are protected for a range of unforeseen
events, including medical expenses for injuries or illness, loss of valuables or
travel documents, and delayed flights or missed connections
- You can use your National Bank credit card to make local and international phone
calls at any credit card phone booths displaying the MasterCard, Visa or PLUS symbol.
