With Principal Protect Boat Insurance, you'll know your boat and its accessories are protected for sudden and unforeseen accidental damage or loss, while you're at sea or on land.

Special Features

  • Insurance for accidental physical loss or damage while your boat is in New Zealand's coastal waters and on land
  • Legal liability protection up to $5,000,000 for claims made against you as a result of accidents involving your boat that cause damage to other people's property
  • Cover for anyone using your boat with your permission
  • Cover for reasonable salvage costs and wreck removal costs
  • $1,000 cover for rescuing you and your passengers - also covers costs of having your boat removed to the nearest repairer or safe place
  • Up to $1,500 cover for medical expenses if you or your family are injured on your boat
  • 30 days cover for any new or additional boat
  • No claims bonus
  • We will not charge you two excesses where a claim is accepted for loss or damage arising from the same event under two or more Principal Protect policies
